But when you're interested in learning more and having a deeper appreciation for the stories behind the masterpieces, then a guided daily tour or talk is exactly what you need. The Museum offers a host of informative discussions and guided tours that give you a glimpse into the backstory of the Museum's collection and the inspiring woman who made it all happen. These activities are regularly scheduled for your convenience.
     
    * Introductory Talk: Who Was Isabella Stewart Gardner? (20 minutes, M/W/Th/F/Sa, 12:30 pm & 2:30 pm) An overview of the life of the museum's founder, these talks are free for museum patrons and take place in the New Wing.
     
    * Spotlight Talks (20 minutes, Sa/Su, 12 pm, 1 pm & 2 pm) Each discussion focuses on a single piece of art from the collection. The featured work changes monthly.
     
    * Introduction to The Gardner (30 minutes, M/W/Th/F, 11:30 am, 12:15 pm & 1 pm) This discussion is perfect for the first-time visitor and provides an overview of the museum and offers suggestions for exploring on your own.
     
    * Collection Conversation (45 minutes, M/W/Th/F, 2 pm) Delve deep into the museum's collections and special exhibits. Pick up a sticker at the Admission Desk to reserve your spot as space is limited.
