We invite you to join us in Boston, Massachusetts for the "Caribbean 2020- HR4939 Forum" on February 15-16, 2019. The forum organized in partnership with the Institute of Caribbean Studies (Washington DC) will explore the potential role of the Caribbean Diaspora and Friends of the Caribbean in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in support of the implementation of Caribbean 2020 Strategy promulgated in accordance with the HR4939 US-Caribbean Engagement Act. As you know, the U.S. Department of State, in coordination with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), submitted a multi-year Caribbean strategy to Congress in June 2017 that establishes a framework for enhancing the security and prosperity of the United States and its Caribbean partners. Given the proposed role of civil society and the private sector, we believe that it is incumbent on us members of the diaspora to support the dialogues that can lead to achieving the objectives of the Caribbean 2020 Framework Strategy. Specifically, given the rich assets of the metro Boston region and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at large, we envisage a role for organizations in education.
