Join us at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for an evening of spoken word with youth performers from MassLEAP (Literary Education & Performance). Young poets will share their voices and views on the important issues of this year's Presidential election in the Institute's full-scale reproduction of the U.S. Senate Chamber.
Speak Up! Art is Action at the EMK Institute invites artists to share and celebrate a spectrum of political voices in a variety of mediums. We hope to inspire political empathy, understanding, and calls to action, truly turning our building over to the people. The week will also include a chance for you to create a political campaign poster and a collaborative public art project to which all are invited to contribute. The events of the week will represent the different ways artists interpret issues important to them and to their communities within their chosen mediums.
The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate is dedicated to educating the public about the important role of the Senate in our government, encouraging participatory democracy, invigorating civil discourse, and inspiring the next generation of citizens and leaders to engage in the civic life of their communities.
While this event is free with no admission fee to the Institute, please register at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute website: Public Events and Programs.
