Trumpeter Dominick Farinacci has been named Global Ambassador to Jazz at Lincoln Center by Wynton Marsalis. His mission is to help integrate jazz into communities around the world.A former student of Tri-Cs Jazz Studies program, Farinacci graduated from The Juilliard School in 2005 and launched his career in Japan with a run of eight albums. He released two more globally, touring the world with his band. He is a recipient of the International New Star Award.Farinacci is a featured performer for the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland and in Abu Dhabi. He has taken part in the first jazz performance for patients in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with the Cleveland Clinic and the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation. He recently organized panel discussions about patient-doctor communications through music with Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar. In September 2014, he presented a TED talk at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.Farinacci has been a leading advocate in music education development, and was featured at the 2014 American Association of Community Colleges in the District of Columbia. He served as music consultant to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.He also gives back to the community through the gift of music. In 2013, Farinacci created a campaign to collect more than 3,000 toys for areas affected by Hurricane Sandy. A Trumpet, a Truck and our Toys for Tots was a partnership with the United States Marines and the Archdiocese of New York.
